June 25, 2021Water Testing Update (6/12/21)
On June 8th, we conducted a round of water testing for Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs). As we have previously communicated, these tests were completed under the direction of an independent lab Phycotech. This is our third round of testing, and so at this point we have comparisons to previous testing and are establishing very useful baselines as we work to move forward to restore the health of the lake.
The results of this week’s testing did not show presence of toxins which is a good sign, however the tests continue to show the presence of HABs and these have increased in concentration in the past two weeks. We continue to stress that everyone use the lake at their own discretion, and to stay out of areas where there are obvious signs of algae and scum. The presence of these HABs are concerning, and we are committed both to continuing our testing regiment and communicating openly with the members of the community.
Our next round of testing will be completed between June 25th and 28th so we can communicate those results ahead of the July 4th holiday weekend.
