For the month of March 2023, CARE wishes to report the following ILPOA metrics:
- Our roving patrol logged on average, 90 paid hours in both February and March.
- During the month of March, 32 initial notifications were sent to potential nuisance properties. One nuisance property resulted in a March court appearance.
- We issued 8 citations for rules violations, four which carried fines.
- 17,757 cars went through our entrance gate.
- The front gate was opened for a couple of hours on two occasions…. once for the fire department while the other had to do with preventive maintenance relative to weather.
- During January and February combined, Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded to 35 ILPOA special calls, including 9 for citizen assistance or complaints, 6 for criminal investigations, 5 for well-being checks, 4 each for fire alarms, suspicious activity and sex offender compliance investigation. Other CCSD responses during January and February related to motor vehicles.
- During the month of March our roving patrol opened and closed the dam spillway to local traffic as weather conditions dictated. In each occasion, they did so without a glitch. Our roving patrol also made a special effort to spot launching boats without stickers, reminding our members that the ILPOA boat registration program is a year-round requirement, not just an “Memorial Day to Labor Day program.” They also continued to help identify and monitor nuisance properties, acting as CARE’s “first set of eyes.”
