Long Range Planning Committee
August 15, 2022ILPOA Board Meeting Minutes
August 25, 2022ILPOA Security Committee
The following is the minutes from the Security Committee meeting
1) Called to order at 2:00 pm on 8/16/22 with attendees Bob, Jean, Don, and Doug.
2) Minutes from the previous meeting were accepted as submitted.
3) Neighborhood Watch recap was moot as 8/15/22 NW Meeting was re-scheduled for 8/22/22.
4) It was recognized that Scott Cason has been invited to join our Security meetings for advice and counseling purposes. He accepted the invitation. Don will provide him with proper credentials for joining our virtual meetings.
5) Don provided an update on the entrance gate encryption card conversion project. No new decisions were made, but a reminder was given that RFID holders will be the first group approached for conversion ( RFID will not work during conversion ). RFID holders will be notified by email to obtain a temporary entrance card ( once full community conversion is over, RFID will once again work ). Once we are down to a handful of RFID holders that have not responded to the email efforts, a signed receipt returned certified mail notice will be sent to that handful to assure proper notice. Thereafter, non-encrypted to encrypted card conversion will begin.
6) It was decided that surveillance camera disclosure for the interior community center areas will be posted at each community center entrance. Don will provide the community with a narrative that interior surveillance camera footage will only be used as necessary and only under board supervision.
7) Don to verify that the current citation template includes an invitation to use the appeal process as described if so desired.
8) Binoculars with cameras will be purchased as proposed by Doug for purposes of more definitive watercraft identification. The item will only be used by water patrol or supporting water patrol efforts.
9 ) Under old business, the committee asked Doug to define the reconfiguration of the yield sign / stop sign combination at the bottom of the entrance road ( across from the community center ), including lane separation. Once the definition is agreed upon, the committee will approach maintenance for plan execution.
10) Under new business, Doug suggested:
*** signage at the community entrance and at launch sites reminding boaters of sticker policy.
*** Doug and Don to determine what info we have in the office to cross-reference potential neighborhood boaters with sticker purchases. At a minimum, we will cross-check check Marina dock lease and lottery dock lease to stickers purchased.
**** It was agreed that Booby would cease Sunday morning street patrol concentration in lieu of fishing boat launch patrol ( we have received memos of fishing boats be launched before hours, without stickers and not respecting no wake zones ).
11) With no other business, the next meeting was set for the 3rd Tuesday of September at 2:00 pm.
12) Meeting adjourned at 2:40 pm.
