Disposition of Indian

Since the removal of the Indian, we have had a few inquiries regarding the disposition of the Indian and a few requests for the Indian. As mentioned before, this is a piece of nostalgia for many at the lake. ILPOA has decided to auction the Indian via sealed bid. The Indian was removed due to its poor condition. See photos for reference. ILPOA makes no promise as to condition of Indian. For insurance/safety reasons, we are unable to allow members into the maintenance yard to view the Indian prior to bidding. We estimate that it weigh’s approximately 500lbs.

If you are interested in bidding on the Indian, submit your name and a check (made payable to ILPOA) for the bid amount in a sealed envelope to the office no later than 3 PM on Friday, April 14. Label the outside of the envelope “INDIAN BID”. If mailing the bid, please CLEARLY mark envelope “INDIAN BID” and mail to ILPOA, 17 Indian Hills Drive, Cuba, MO 65453. Bids that are not properly and clearly labeled will be discarded.

The bids will be opened immediately after the quarterly meeting on Saturday April 15. The winner will have 1 week from the date of the auction to coordinate removal of the Indian from the maintenance area. Winner must haul. Losing bidders will have their check returned to them.
