Confluence Rivers Proposed Rate Change

You have likely received a letter from Confluence Rivers which is our water company here at Indian Hills.  Based on feedback, the letter could be confusing as they are asking for an increase in revenues, but Indian Hills users are actually going to experience a decrease in their water bills if the proposal is approved by the MO PSC.

CRUC (Confluence Rivers Utility Company) has expanded their operations significantly since they purchased the Indian Hills system several years ago. As a result of their expansion, they now have access to cheaper capital, and have more systems in which to spread their fixed costs. Indian Hills will benefit from this change as the proposed base rate will be reduced from current monthly charge of $50.90 to $29.19. The cost per 1,000 gallons will be fixed throughout the year to $9.54 which is a change from the current summer/winter rates of $11.55 and $7.70 per 1,000 gallons, respectively.

The board continues to partner with CRUC on infrastructure plans for our community including impacts from our proposed Road Improvement initiative. CRUC contracts out repairs for any leaks, and we encourage members to call customer service at 1-866-945-3920 to report leaks or issues with service.

For further information regarding the CRUC rate filing, you may go to https://efis.psc.mo.gov/mpsc/DocketSheet.html and reference Case No. WR-2023-0006. Below is a snip of the proposed tariff changes and the proposed monthly estimates based on 4,000 gallons per month.
