July 29, 2022Neighborhood Watch Update
Below are the minutes from our most recent meeting regarding our Neighborhood Watch program.
- Called to order at 5:00 with attendees R Dixon, D DuBois, J Koyn, M Schraim & J Rohal.
- Attendees confirmed that we will meet every other Monday at 5:00 pm in the community center and that the distributed Indian Hills Lake Community Neighborhood Watch Program Manual will be our bible ( i. e., we will not minimize it, recreate it or otherwise ignore it ).
- As a group of attendees, we reviewed the first two chapters of the Manual, recognizing the expanded USAonWatch revitalization on the original National Sheriff’s Association ( 1972 ) Neighborhood Watch, post 9/11 terrorism.
- Neighborhood Watch signs and stickers discussions were deferred, but recognition was given to the sign and sticker designs offered by USAonWatch.
- Conversation and potential suggestions for dealing with recent boat gasoline theft were discussed without definitive solutions.
- Conversation and potential suggestions for dealing with recent boat gasoline theft were discussed without definitive solutions.
- Next meeting will concentrate on Indian Hills map plotting, recognizing the desire for a Block Captain per every 10 to 15 houses, for Bock Captains being full time residents, and our limited volunteerism to date. The “map plotting” will help us identify where we need Block Captains and which residents in that “block” can be approached for recruitment.
- Jean to provide the blank map for “map plotting.” Once Block Captain recruitment critical mass has been achieved, we will start to introduce our Block Captains to their block and set up training….all as outlined in the manual.
- Next meeting is Monday August 1 at 5:00 pm.
- It was decided that R Dixon will post Neighborhood Watch minutes on the ILPOA website and that Jean will post the minutes on Facebook and next door.
- Meeting was adjourned at 5:30 pm.
