Memorial Day Weekend Reminders

Memorial Day Weekend is special because it means our community is at full strength enjoying everything the Indian Lake has to offer.  It is also a great time for everyone to get reacquainted, share what’s new in each other’s lives, enjoy some lake time, catch some fish and take advantage of all that Indian Lake has to offer with friends and family.

Here are a few reminders as you prepare for a great weekend at the lake:

  1. Office Hours: This year on Friday the office will be open from Noon to 7 p.m.  This will allow our members coming down a chance to stop by the office and pick up your boat, golf cart/ATV/UTV stickers.  Security and Water Patrol will be on the lookout for stickers so make sure you pick them up and put them on so you do not receive a citation.  Also, tell Michelle at the office thanks for staying open late on Friday.  The office will also be open on Saturday.
  2. Men’s Club Pancake Breakfast on Sunday: treat the cook in your house and take the whole family over to the Community Center for a delicious pancake breakfast that allows the Men’s Club to support our community.  The pancakes are great and the conversations with each even better.  If you can, make an extra donation to the Men’s Club.  The Pancake Breakfast will start at 8 a.m. and run through 11 a.m.  Adults are $6/each and Children are $5/each.
  3. Blessing of the Boats on Sunday: The marina does a great job taking care of our boats but certainly a blessing from the Holy Cross Catholic church can hurt keep your watercraft on the lake all season.  Show your spirit by decorating your watercraft in any theme you want as we celebrate this tradition at Indian Lake for the 33rd year.  We will line up by the beach and Water Patrol will begin to lead the parade at 6 p.m. as we circle around to Cove 7 for the blessing.
  4. Be Safe: the traffic on the lake will be heavier this weekend like all holiday weekends.  Make sure everyone operating a watercraft understand the lake rules & regulations.  Stay 100′ from the shoreline and between you and another watercraft or someone being towed.  Nothing is more important than everyone being safe to enjoy the weekend.

If you have any questions please email the office at indianlake@ilpoa.org or by phone at 573-885-3630.  Remember, the office will be busy this weekend so please be patient and thank Michelle for everything she does for our community.
