Lake Restoration Update: June 2024

In case you missed it, last week we sent out the results of our Memorial Day water testing which showed marked improvement in the water profile of the lake. (https://ilpoa.org/water-testing-results-for-2024/). Our partner SIS.BIO has produced a supporting report that outlines the great progress we’ve made driven by the Lake Restoration efforts.

The mission when the Lake Restoration board was created was the following

  • Reduce harmful algal blooms (HABs)
  • Reduce the amount of muck in the lake
  • Improve the clarity of the water
  • Return the lake to a healthy state

As the report below shares, we have made great progress in the past three years.  This outcome was made possible because of the financial donations from 312 lake members; lake dredging funds; club donations; and memorial gifts.  From the beginning, this was a 5 year restoration project, with funding secured for the first three years.

Now we need the entire community to help finish what was started to make our lake healthy.  By voting FOR the increase in boat sticker fees, we will secure the funding necessary to ensure we do not lose our lake.  Please vote YES! today and return your ballot as soon as possible.
