Understanding ILPOA Rules & Regulations

There seem to always be questions on social media sites and in our meetings regarding ILPOA Rules & Regulations. So we are creating a new ongoing article on Understanding ILPOA Rules & Regulations (R&R) where we will highlight specific R&Rs. These articles will appear at least once a month.

Boat Registration

E. BOAT REGISTRATION.

1. All boats being launched, operated, docked at private or ILPOA docks or on lifts in the lake water of Indian Hills Subdivision are required to be registered with the Association Office and to display current ILPOA boat stickers purchased at a total cost of twenty five dollars ($25.00) which will be affixed on the left and right side near the back/rear 1/3 of the boat, above the water line. Lot numbers will be affixed next to the ILPOA boat sticker which will be no less than three inches (3”) high on the right and left side of the watercraft. (changed 2019) Effective January 1, 2021 (Any Changes from 2020 Shown in Bold Italics) Page 3 of 10

2. Non-motorized and no wake electric watercraft require lot numbers ONLY. 3. Members must get approval from Board of Directors before registering any new style boat or water device on the lake. (Relocated from Section 7, Rules and Regulations)

Compliance:

  • Watercraft Must Be Registered at ILPOA Office: for each motorized watercraft we will need a copy of your title which will be kept in your member file.
  • Watercraft Sticker Required:  you will need to purchase a sticker for each motorized watercraft for $25 per watercraft.  Each watercraft will receive (2) stickers which should be placed on each side of the watercraft, located on the rear 1/3 of the watercraft, and should be above the waterline so it is visible.

Enforcement:

  • Failure of members to register their watercraft, purchase watercraft stickers, and place stickers where they are visible will be subject to at a minimum of citations and/or fines.
  • ILPOA Water Patrol will begin issuing citations and/or fines beginning Memorial Day Weekend for any watercraft on the lake or in a boat slip located on the lake that does not have a current sticker properly affixed/visible on the watercraft.
