Evidence of Algae Bloom at Indian Lake

The board has been made aware that certain areas of the lake, particularly areas down by the dam, show signs of an algae bloom.

As part of the Lake Restoration efforts, the Lake Restoration board has been conducting bi-weekly tests for HABs (Harmful Algae Blooms) continuing the regimen that we started in the second quarter of 2021. We will be conducting our next round of testing early next week.

This is a reminder to all members to stay out of areas with obvious signs of algae and scum and to use the lake at your own discretion.  Conditions similar to the area near the dam where there are pronounced signs of algae can be extremely harmful to pets and small children.

In addition to next week’s test for HABs, we will also be conducting testing for e.Coli around the lake. The board will share the results of those tests as soon as they are available well ahead of the holiday weekend.
