Election Results Explained

1) The proposed by-law change for the establishment of a special assessment for “Road Repair and Construction Fund” failed to receive the necessary 2/3rds majority for passage, thus it failed. It received 54%.  541 ballots were cast of which 290 voted yes and 251 voted no. As a condition outlined in our previous successful judgment it was ruled that the collection of funds requires a 2/3 (67%) of all members who vote. This will continue to be a requirement going forward based on a successful ruling in the association’s favor by the Appeals Court.

2) The proposed by-law change to allow flexibility in the physical or electronic location of Meeting of Members received more than the necessary 2/3rds majority, thus it passed. It received 71%.  531 ballots were cast of which 394 voted yes and 141 voted no.

3) The proposed rules and regulations change regarding Section 3: Lake Rules, Paragraph B: Speed Limits failed to obtain its required 67% majority, thus it failed. It received 39% (requires 67%).  536 ballots were cast of which 211 voted yes and 325 voted no.

4) The proposed rules and regulations change regarding Section 4: Ski, Tube and Wakeboard Safety: Paragraph A failed to obtain its required 67%, thus it failed. It received 40% (requires 67%).  486 ballots were cast of which 197 were yes and 289 were no.

5) The proposed rules and regulations change regarding Section 4: Ski, Tube and Wakeboard Safety: Paragraph L failed to obtain its required 67%, thus it failed. It received 47% (requires 67%).  492 ballots were cast of which 232 were yes and 260 were no.
