Operation of Boats
- No one under the age of 14 shall operate any
motorized watercraft. Proof of age may
be requested by Water Patrol
- All watercraft, except sailboats, must travel
counter-clockwise at all times
- All coves are considered “No Wake” zones
- Travel counter-clockwise at all times, except
when picking up a fallen person
- Recommend following all Missouri Water Patrol
Rules
Speed Limit
- Boating speed limit 40 mph
- No Wake Time Memorial Day through Labor Day: 7
p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- No Wake Time After Labor Day: 6 p.m. – 10 a.m.
Required Items
- Must have a Coast Guard Approved life jacket for
each person
- PWC drivers and passengers must wear Coast Guard
Approved life jacket at all times
- Watercraft operating after dark must have proper
running lights
SKI, TUBE and
Wakeboard Safety
- Boats pulling skiers, tubes, wakeboards, etc.
must be equipped with a rear-view mirror or have at least (2) occupants
- No more than three (3) skiers or wake board
riders and no more tubers than the rated capacity for such tube
- A rectangular orange or red flag, at least 12
inches x 12 inches, must be displayed when the person is in the water before or
after being towed. The flag should not be displayed while the motorboat is
engaged in towing but should be displayed again when the towed person enters
the water. PWC and moored or anchored motorboats are exempt from this
requirement. Wake surfing is
prohibited
- All tow ropes must be 50’ long
